Dr. Mocco is the Director of the Cerebrovascular Center at Mount Sinai, overseeing a collaborative team of cerebrovascular focused neurologists, radiologists, and neurosurgeons, who provide stroke care across a system of eight hospitals. He is a committed cerebrovascular clinical trialist. He obtained an M.S. in Biostatistics during his neurosurgery residency at Columbia University and, since that time, he has worked extensively to advocate for the performance of high-quality clinical trials. He has built a dedicated cerebrovascular clinical research team that currently runs 38 (29 funded) ongoing clinical trials across the Mount Sinai Health System. He has extensive clinical trials experience, having served as a national/international PI or Co-PI for the following multicenter prospective randomized or single arm trials: COMPASS (RCT), THERAPY(RCT), PHIL, POSITIVE(RCT), FEAT(RCT), COAST, Barrel, INVEST, and TNK (RCT). Dr. Mocco has served on the NIH StrokeNet Acute Stroke Working Group from 2016-2020 and on the NIH StrokeNet Executive Committee since 2022.
