Sarah Marchina

Sarah Marchina, PhD is currently a research fellow and clinical trials specialist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. After graduating from University of Zurich in Switzerland in the field of Psychology with emphasis on Neuroscience/Neuropsychology, she received her PhD at University of Zurich after doing her research thesis in Boston in the field of stroke and aphasia recovery with Melodic Intonation Therapy. She has worked on several projects including meta-analyses of the prognostic value of perihematomal edema in patients with ICH; imaging markers of cerebral small vessel disease in ICH patients; and investigating the use of tDCS to help stroke survivors to regain their swallow ability. She currently manages the SATURN and SATURN-MRI trials, which aim to examine the use of statin therapy in survivors of lobar ICH.
