Dr. Xin Cheng received her MD from Shanghai Medical College Fudan University (previously Shanghai Medical University) in 2003, and PhD from Fudan University in 2009. After graduation, she has been working at Neurology Department, Huashan Hospital Fudan University for more than 10 years. Her research interests focus on neuroimaging and treatment of acute stroke, and cerebral small vessel disease, especially cerebral amyloid angiopathy. Her current position is Professor of Neurology, PhD supervisor and Vice Chair at the Department of Neurology. She had a research fellowship in Alzheimer’s disease at Sun Health Research Institute, AZ, USA from Nov. 2007 to Dec. 2008. She had her clinical observership at Neurology Department, Massachusetts General Hospital, MA, USA from Sep. to Dec. 2015. Dr. Cheng has been the principal investigator of ten grants from the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Chinese Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, and Shanghai Hospital Development Center. She has led several national multicenter RCT trials: CHABLIS-T, CHABLIS-T II and ASPIRING-Pilot. She authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications, including Lancet Neurology, Circulation Research, Science Bulletin, Brain, Alzheimers & Dementia, Annals of Neurology, Neurology etc., 2 books and 6 national guidelines or expert consensus, and has been awarded American Academy of Neurology’s 2009 and 2010 International Scholarship Award, Shanghai Rising-Star Program, 2022 WSO Future Stroke Leaders Programme.
